International Desk | May 11, 2025: Iran has positively received the ceasefire announced between India and Pakistan after four days of heightened tensions. On Saturday, May 10, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Baghaei, stated, “This ceasefire is a significant step toward reducing tensions in the region and establishing lasting peace.”
According to Iran International, Baghaei described the decision by Indian and Pakistani leaders as a “responsible and visionary step” and expressed hope that relations between New Delhi and Islamabad would soon normalize.
The situation between India and Pakistan had escalated alarmingly before U.S. President Donald Trump mediated between the two nations. Following U.S. efforts, both countries agreed to a ceasefire on Saturday. Trump hailed the ceasefire as a “historic and heroic” move, pledging to work toward resolving the Kashmir issue in the future.
