Chuadanga | May 11, 2025: Chuadanga has been grappling with an intense heatwave for the fourth consecutive day.
On Sunday, May 11, the district recorded the country's highest temperature at 41.8°C, a slight increase from Saturday’s 41°C. Despite a marginal drop in the mercury, the high humidity levels have amplified the discomfort, making the heat feel even more oppressive. The air carries a fiery intensity, adding to the residents' woes.
Streets remained largely deserted since morning, with minimal movement of people. Even daily wage earners, compelled to step out for their livelihoods, faced extreme hardship. The relentless heat has made life unbearable for the district’s residents, severely impacting the income of many laborers.
Jaminur Rahman, the officer-in-charge of Chuadanga Weather Office, stated that no relief is expected in the next two days. However, a possibility of rainfall has been forecasted after May 13, which could bring some respite.
