Dhaka, 22 May 2025: The Advisory Council has granted preliminary and final approval to the draft of the ‘July Mass Uprising Martyred Families and Injured Students-Public Welfare and Rehabilitation Ordinance, 2025’.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Advisory Council, chaired by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus, held on Thursday (22 May) morning at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Tejgaon. The meeting, which continued until noon, adopted several significant decisions.
The draft ordinance was finalized subject to vetting by the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division. Additionally, the draft of the ‘Government Service (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025’ also received final approval. The council provided directives regarding the immediate implementation of recommendations proposed by the Reform Commission.
Furthermore, a proposal for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in naval defense equipment between the governments of Bangladesh and the Netherlands was approved.
The ordinance is expected to strengthen measures for the welfare and rehabilitation of the families of martyrs and those injured during the July mass uprising.
