Dhaka, May 12, 2025 : Denmark has expressed a strong interest in increasing its investment in Bangladesh, with plans to initiate multiple projects within the next six months, according to Thomas Lund-Sorensen, Director General of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On Monday morning, the third Bangladesh-Denmark Political Consultation Meeting was held at the State Guest House Padma in Dhaka. During the meeting, Denmark announced an additional assistance package of $5 million. High-level representatives from both nations participated, discussing trade, climate change, development cooperation, and the Rohingya crisis, among other topics.
The Bangladeshi delegation was led by Director General Md. Abul Hasan Mridha, while Thomas Lund-Sorensen headed the Danish side. The meeting was attended by Danish Ambassador Christian Brix Moller and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Denmark, A K M Shahidul Karim. Later, the visiting Danish delegation met with the Foreign Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Thomas Lund-Sorensen stated, “Bangladesh is undergoing a democratic transformation. We are eager to expand our investments here, and we are optimistic that some projects will soon become visible.”
