A Sub-Inspector (SI) of the police lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident while attempting to apprehend a wanted suspect in Boalmari, Faridpur. The deceased officer, Borhan Uddin (27), was serving at Mohammadpur Police Station in Magura. The incident occurred around 12 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2025, on the Mazkandi-Bhatiapara regional highway near Sotashi Bridge in Boalmari municipality.
According to police and local sources, Borhan Uddin was traveling from Mohammadpur Police Station to Boalmari to arrest a suspect wanted under a warrant. While on the way, he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a tree, resulting in his immediate death at the scene. Dr. Morshed Alam, a duty doctor at Boalmari Upazila Health Complex, stated that Borhan was likely not wearing a helmet, which led to a severe head injury causing his death.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mosammat Bulbuli Khatun, the duty officer at Mohammadpur Police Station, confirmed that Borhan was on his way to Boalmari to apprehend a suspect linked to a case. Mohammadpur Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Abdur Rahman informed that senior officials have been notified of the incident, and further steps will be taken based on their directives.
Boalmari Police Station’s OC Mahamudul Hasan stated that Borhan’s body is currently at the Boalmari Upazila Health Complex, and the police are investigating the matter. The deceased officer was the son of Kobad Ali from Payra village under Abhaynagar Police Station in Jashore.
