Four Bangladeshi Nationals Detained for Illegal Entry from India in Dinajpur

Dinajpur, May 11, 2025: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel detained four Bangladeshi citizens for illegally entering Bangladesh from India through the Bochaganj Upazila in Dinajpur district. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, May 11, according to a press release issued by Dinajpur 42 BGB.

The detained individuals were identified as Laichur Rahman (21), son of Nazrul Islam from South Chatail village in Bochaganj Upazila; Abdul Kader (28), son of Aman Ullah from Narabari village in Birampur Upazila; Sujan Chandra Roy (18), son of Pulen Chandra Roy from Bongram village; and Surya Roy (22), son of Nilamu Roy from Dasnagar village.
According to the press release, the four individuals were apprehended around 3:00 AM near the 332 Main Pillar and 1 Sub-Pillar of the Parshwerpur Border Outpost (BOP) in Bochaganj Upazila while attempting to cross the border illegally from India. Preliminary interrogations revealed that the detainees had illegally entered India seven to eight months ago through brokers in search of work. They were attempting to return to Bangladesh with the assistance of Indian brokers.
Hasan Zahid Sarkar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bochaganj Police Station, confirmed that the detainees were handed over to the police, and a case was filed by the BGB. The individuals will be produced before the court for further legal proceedings.
