Appeal for Assistance in Identifying 8 Unknown Martyrs of July-August Revolution

National Desk, May 12, 2025 : The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal has issued an appeal for public assistance in identifying the bodies of eight unknown martyrs from the July-August Revolution. 

The announcement was made in a press release sent by the Information Department on Monday, May 12.  

According to the release, following the July Revolution, 81 unidentified bodies were buried at the Rayerbazar killing field cemetery in the capital after post-mortems were conducted at the Dhaka Medical College morgue, facilitated by Anjuman Mufidul Islam. Through investigations, the agency has confirmed that eight of these bodies belong to martyrs of the July Revolution. However, their identities remain unknown, and determining their identities is crucial for the ongoing investigation.
Details regarding the age, physical characteristics, religion, clothing, nature of injuries, and locations where the bodies were found have been published on the Information Department’s website, the investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal, and at Shahbagh Police Station in Dhaka. The agency has urged the public to come forward with any information that could help identify these martyrs.
