IRGC Detains 52 in Southeast Iran Amid Allegations of Israel-Linked Terrorism

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has reported the detention or killing of 52 individuals in southeast Iran, targeting locations allegedly used for terrorist activities linked to Israel. The operation, conducted in Sistan-Baluchistan province over the past week, was detailed in a statement following a report by the state-controlled Tasnim news agency on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

According to the IRGC, the operations focused on dismantling facilities associated with terrorist groups accused of spreading insecurity and sabotaging critical infrastructure and economic assets. The statement claims that five foreign nationals involved in drone sabotage, allegedly working with Israeli intelligence, remain at large, with ongoing efforts to apprehend them. No specific details regarding the identities of those detained or killed, or the precise nature of the operations, were provided in the statement. The Tasnim report noted that two individuals were killed and 50 others arrested during the week-long operation. The crackdown comes amid heightened tensions between the Islamic Republic and Israel, with Iran intensifying its suppression of alleged collaborators. Since the onset of hostilities, over 700 people have reportedly been arrested across Iran for suspected ties to Israel, though the number of fatalities or executions remains undisclosed. Sistan-Baluchistan has been a hotspot of unrest since the 2022 Zahedan massacre, and the region has once again become a focal point of repression under Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s regime, particularly following recent Israeli strikes.
