Chittagong: June 06, 2025 : Following a tragic train accident at the Kalurghat Bridge, the Railway Ministry has formed a four-member investigation committee and temporarily suspended four railway employees.
Rezaul Karim Siddique, Senior Information Officer of the Railway Ministry, confirmed the development on Friday (June 06) morning.
The suspended employees are Train Guard Sohel Rana (Headquarters, Chittagong), Locomaster Golam Rasul (T No. 530), Assistant Locomaster Amin Ullah (T No. 723), and Temporary Gatekeeper Mahbub (TLR).
The investigation committee, led by the Divisional Transport Officer (DTO) of Chittagong, includes the DME (Loco), Divisional Engineer-1, and Divisional Medical Officer (Pahartali, Chittagong). The committee has been instructed to submit its report within three working days.
Notably, on Thursday (June 05) around 10:15 PM, a collision between the Tourist Express train and several vehicles at the Boalkhali section of the Kalurghat Bridge resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including a two-year-old child.
