Confusion Being Spread Over Removal of Temporary Mandap from Railway Land: Railway Advisor

Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Railways, has alleged that attempts are being made to spread confusion through various channels regarding the removal of a temporary mandap constructed on railway land in Dhaka’s Khilkhet area. He made these remarks in a statement issued by the railway authorities on Friday, June 27.
According to Fawzul Kabir Khan, during last year’s Durga Puja, some individuals built a puja mandap on railway land in Khilkhet without prior permission. The organizers were granted permission to hold the puja on the condition that the mandap would be removed after the festival. Although the organizers promised to dismantle the mandap, they failed to do so despite repeated reminders. Instead, they took steps to establish a permanent temple at the site. Despite multiple warnings from the railway authorities, the organizers did not comply.
He further stated that, to free public property from illegal occupation, all legal procedures were followed, and the temporary mandap was removed from the railway land in Khilkhet on Thursday, June 26. Prior to this, around a hundred shops, political party offices, and a raw market in the area were also cleared. The idol from the temporary temple was respectfully immersed in the Balu River.
The railway authorities have urged everyone to refrain from spreading confusion or engaging in provocative activities regarding this issue.
