Hajj 2025 Begins Today in Makkah with Enhanced Arrangements

Makkah, June 4, 2025: The annual Hajj pilgrimage, a cornerstone of Islamic faith, officially commenced today in the holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The rituals, observed from the 8th to the 13th of Dhul-Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic calendar, mark the start of the 2025 Hajj season, drawing millions of Muslims from around the world.

Saudi authorities have prioritized safety, healthcare, transportation, and overall logistics to ensure a seamless experience for pilgrims. According to official reports, over 3,314 flights from 71 countries have brought pilgrims to Saudi Arabia so far.
To facilitate transportation, the “Al Mashayer Al Muqaddasah” metro service, also known as the Sacred Sites Train Line, will operate 4,900 trips during the seven-day Hajj period, accommodating approximately 2 million pilgrims with safe and comfortable travel. Additionally, 25,000 buses equipped with advanced technological monitoring have been deployed for road transport. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being utilized to scan and maintain 7,400 kilometers of roads and inspect vehicles to ensure safety.
Saleh Al-Zawaid, spokesperson for the Transport and Logistics Services Department, announced that the Haramain High-Speed Railway has increased its trips by 75% compared to last year, further easing pilgrim movement.
To enhance connectivity, 4G and 5G network coverage has been expanded to 99% in Makkah, Madinah, and other holy sites. Over 10,500 Wi-Fi points have been installed to provide high-speed internet access, ensuring smooth communication for pilgrims.
With unprecedented technological and logistical preparations, Saudi Arabia is set to host a safe and efficient Hajj for millions of worshippers this year.
