Dhaka, May 13, 2025: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a cautionary alert for river ports in Dhaka and 14 other regions across the country, warning of potential storms with wind speeds reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour.
On Tuesday, Assistant Meteorologist Kazi Jebunnesa provided the forecast, valid until 1:00 AM, for the country’s inland river ports. According to the BMD, regions including Rajshahi, Pabna, Tangail, Mymensingh, Jessore, Kushtia, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, and Sylhet may experience temporary gusty or stormy winds from the west or northwest, accompanied by rain or thunderstorms, at speeds of 45 to 60 km per hour.
The BMD has instructed river ports in these areas to display Cautionary Signal No. 1.
